> Verdict: A nice (idle) incremental game where activity is rewarded.

When you see a game twice on different media you have to give it a shot. I first saw it on Reddit and then it passed in my Steam recommendations. I needed to try this.
This means that posting your game works and all game developers should do that.

In Feed the Forest you control a little snail trying to re-forest a dry patch of desert. The contrast between the yellow dry-sand and green forest is a satisfying view. Turning a little oasis into an almost rainy forest with just a snail is pretty cool.

But before we get there, you have to get over a few (annoying) parts of the game. I got a little stuck in the beginning, UI in my snail's way, an exclamation mark that wasn't doing anything (yet).
Confused at the start
According to the UI you had to go here...
Nothing here
But there is nothing here, yet...

Not to worry: you will move around and then immediately you get the concept: Feed the Forest. Little patches of green started to sprout everywhere and the goal became clear: make it all green! The little sounds from feeding are a nice touch. However I did find the numbers and popups in front of my snail a bit annoying. Sometimes I got used to it, sometimes it made me want to quit.
Bit too much
Numbers, numbers. They don't add too much value.

Get past the little things and you'll see a beautiful contrast coming to life!

I would add a bit more contrast between the green and yellow. Let the fruits pop more.

Dont try to get it all
For the perfectionist among us: don't try to patch it all. It was pretty tedious. I was first hoping for an extension of the map after reaching a certain percent, but that is not the case. Nor should it be now that I've finished it.

What the game does really well is having the upgrades fit tightly together. Just when I was about to get bored a new upgrade made all my life better again. The best of all? Happy Tree Friends! This was a perfect beat in the already balanced interest curve.

A nice final touch: Stats in the end. Who doesn't love that?

All in all, a good solid game worth a try!

// designer's takeaway
A relaxing, satisfying incremental game where you fill a barren desert with lush greenery. Very satisfying with some nice gameplay beats.

> What I'd steal:

The contrast between desert and, almost, tropical rain forest does the feeling justice!
